Bhubaneswar, Jul 23: The Odisha government has approved the formation of two new battalions under the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF).


This expansion will create 1,944 new posts across various ranks, strengthening the state’s capacity to safeguard key industrial zones.


The new positions include 2 Commandants, 6 Deputy Commandants, 16 Assistant Commandants, 24 Armed Inspectors, 54 Armed Sub-Inspectors, 126 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 256 Havildars, 1,350 Constables, 14 Ministerial Staff (clerks and stenographers), 30 Armourer Staff.

The recruitment will follow a transparent process under existing rules, with salaries governed by the Odisha Revised Service Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017.


Support services like cooks and sweepers will be outsourced, employing around 136 individuals.


This move comes under the directive of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who has already sanctioned over 21,000 police sector posts in the last eight months. The official notification was issued by Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu on July 22, 2025.
