131 Flood-Affected Schools Closed
In view of the flood situation, the Bhadrak district administration has declared a holiday for 131 flood-affected schools in four blocks, Dhamnagar, Tihidi, Chandbali and Bhadrak, today.

Floodwater from the Salandi has left several areas inundated. Barasara, Gobindapur and Shyamsundarpur panchayats in Tihidi block, along with 10 panchayats in Chandbali block, remain waterlogged.

Relief Measures Intensified
According to the source, Tihidi and Chandbali blocks have been affected by the floods, with 117 villages across 30 gram panchayats impacted. More than 1.27 lakh people have been affected, while the district administration has evacuated more than 52,000 people, the source added.

Cooked food is being provided at 97 locations in the affected areas. As many as 37 health teams have also been deployed, while drinking water and dry food are being distributed among affected people.

Additionally, three Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) teams have been deployed in Bhadrak district. One team has been stationed in the Dhusuri area of Dhamnagar block, one in Tihidi block and another in Chandbali block, the source informed.

Jajpur Flood: 62 Villages Inundated In Dasarathpur
Flooding in the Baitarani and its tributary Kani river has affected Dasarathpur block in the neighbouring Jajpur district.

A total of 62 villages across 19 gram panchayats in the block have been affected by floodwater.

A fresh breach has developed at a location that had been repaired after the previous flood, allowing floodwater to enter nearby villages and inundate large areas.
