Bhubaneswar, Apr 23: In a significant move to strengthen the judicial framework, the Odisha government has established three new Civil Judge Courts (Junior Division) in three districts across Odisha.
According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the new courts have been set up at Baliapal (Balasore district), Lephripara (Sundargarh district), and Rengali (Sambalpur district).
This decision, made in consultation with the Odisha High Court, was approved by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with an official notification issued recently.
The establishment of these courts aims to address the growing judicial needs in these revenue tehsils, ensuring faster resolution of civil cases and reducing the burden on existing judicial bodies. The new courts will have jurisdiction over their respective tehsils, effectively replacing the authority of other Junior Division Civil Judge Courts in these areas.
This initiative reflects Odisha’s commitment to improving access to justice, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions. Legal experts and local residents have welcomed the development, citing its potential to enhance efficiency and accessibility in the justice system.
