Special focus is being given to eight high-alert districts — Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur — with arrangements to maintain power supply to hospitals, water systems, and other critical services. Lightning arresters have been installed at key points, and ASKA lights, DG sets, and water pumps are ready at division levels.
People have been urged to stay indoors during strong winds, avoid contact with electrical installations during rain or flooding, and report emergencies via the toll-free helpline 1912. The Energy Department reaffirmed its commitment to public safety through proactive planning, real-time monitoring, and coordinated disaster response.
The cyclone is expected to make landfall near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday night with 90-110 kmph winds and heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across multiple districts in Andhra and Odisha.
