OMSA leaders said that doctors will resume work without
delay, restoring healthcare services at government hospitals across the state
after several days of disruption. The strike, which began on Wednesday, had
severely affected medical services and patient care.
Doctors had earlier refused to withdraw until the government
accepted their 10-point charter of demands. These included implementation of
the Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) scheme, cadre restructuring and
higher incentives for specialists, postmortem allowance, a three-year exit
policy for KBK and TSP areas, and stronger safety measures through revision of
the Odisha Medicare Act.

The Health Minister said that a committee will be formed to address these issues. The next round of talks between OMSA and the government has been scheduled for July 22, where further progress is expected. The suspension of the strike has been welcomed as a relief for patients and a step toward resolving long-standing grievances.
