Upon admission, doctors conducted detailed examinations and decided that surgical removal was the only viable option. Given the tumour’s size, weight, and long duration, the procedure posed significant challenges, including risks related to blood loss, nerve damage, and airway complications. Despite these hurdles, the surgical team proceeded with careful planning.
After hours of meticulous effort, the doctors successfully removed the tumour, which weighed approximately 9.8 kilograms. The surgery was hailed as one of the rarest and most demanding procedures performed at the institute in recent years.
Hospital authorities confirmed that the patient is now recovering well and is in stable condition. His improved health has brought relief to his family, who had been struggling with the emotional and physical burden of his long‑standing condition.
Medical experts at VIMSAR noted that such large tumours are
extremely uncommon and require advanced surgical skill and coordinated
teamwork. They also emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and timely
medical intervention to prevent complications.
