Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: The Odisha government said it is extending coordinated support to central agencies, district authorities and the concerned airline following an aircraft accident near Rourkela, under the overall supervision of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Officials said the Department of Commerce and Transport and the Directorate of Aviation are working closely with the Government of India, the Sundargarh district administration and the airline to ensure a swift and effective response.
To facilitate the movement of investigation teams and medical experts, the state government has deployed a helicopter to transport officials from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau and senior doctors to Rourkela, officials said. Officers from the Directorate of Aviation are stationed at Rourkela and are providing on-ground support to local authorities.
The Principal Secretary of the Commerce and Transport Department Usha Padhee is overseeing overall coordination and supervision, the government said.
According to the latest health bulletin, all passengers are safe and in stable condition. One passenger remains under close medical observation. Senior specialist doctors from Bhubaneswar have also been deputed to Rourkela to provide treatment, expert supervision and continued monitoring, with full support from the state government.
The Odisha government said it is extending all necessary assistance to ensure passenger safety, prompt medical care for those affected, and a thorough investigation by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau.
