Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the Capital Region Ring Road (CRRR) project in Odisha. He thanked PM Modi during a ceremony at the State Guest House here, attended by several Ministers, legislators and senior BJP leaders.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always given priority to Odisha. With the cooperation of the Central Government, in the past 14 months, Odisha has made progress on the path of development by adopting the mantra of growth, thereby strengthening the resolve for a developed India. The Central Government has approved the 'Capital Region Ring Road' for Odisha, and in a special program organized at the State Guest House, I, along with members of the Council of Ministers, legislators, and senior party leaders, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister,” the Chief Minister stated in a post on X.

The event also marked a major industrial revival, with the announcement of global steel giant POSCO’s return to Odisha. In partnership with JSW Steel, POSCO will set up a mega steel plant in Keonjhar district with an initial investment of Rs 50,000 crore. The plant will begin with a 6 million tonne capacity, eventually scaling up to 12 million tonnes. Keonjhar was chosen for its robust infrastructure and strategic location.

To further attract investment, the Odisha government has been conducting roadshows in Delhi, Mumbai, and Singapore, with Hyderabad next on the list. The state’s investor-friendly policies and incentive packages are positioning Odisha as a rising industrial hub.

CM Majhi also highlighted the Union Cabinet’s recent approval of two semiconductor manufacturing units in Bhubaneswar. These projects, worth over Rs 4,000 crore, will bring cutting-edge technology and generate thousands of high-skilled jobs, placing Odisha on the global semiconductor map.
