Bhubaneswar, Mar 9: Former MLA and Ex-Minister Ananta Das passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 85. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan led the tributes for Das.

CM Majhi expressed his deep grief saying Das’ contribution to the Balasore’s development is invaluable. “I’m deeply saddened by the passig of former minister Ananta Das,” reads a post of the Chief Minister in his ‘X’ account.

“His significant contributions to the development of the state and the Balasore region, as both a minister and an MLA, will always be remembered. His loss marks the departure of a dedicated public servant in the state. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his grieving family and loved ones, and I pray for his soul’s peace,” the post reads further.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Pradhan, in his social media – ‘X’ – post, wrote: “Hearing about the demise of Odisha's former minister and Bhograi's ex-MLA, Ananta Das, deeply saddens me. As a public representative, he had carried out numerous developmental initiatives. His contributions to the state's political landscape will be forever cherished. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family and pray for the eternal peace of his noble soul. May his legacy continue to inspire.”
