Bhubaneswar, June 16: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed appointment letters to 964 newly recruited candidates in five departments of the State government at a ‘Nijukti Mela’ (Job fair) here in Odisha on Monday.


Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the vital role of youth in shaping the State’s future, calling them the "charioteers of Odisha’s growth journey."


The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s dedication to harnessing the energy, skill, and enthusiasm of the youth for the betterment of society and state. Stressing public service values, he urged the appointees to view themselves as servants of the people and work toward fulfilling their hopes and resolving their challenges.

CM Majhi outlined the government’s broader employment strategy, declaring a target of filling 1.5 lakh government jobs within five years. Highlighting transparency in the recruitment process, he noted that his government has recently increased upper age limits (now 42 years) to widen more opportunities for the jobseekers.


The Chief Minister also mentioned an administrative review held on 1 January 2025 with heads of recruitment bodies to identify and expedite filling of vacant posts across departments. With 28,000 posts already filled in the first year and 40,000 more planned in the second, the CM said.


Concluding his address, CM Majhi expressed confidence in the new recruits, encouraging them to act with integrity and empathy, and to serve the people with both professionalism and compassion. He reiterated his vision of building a “prosperous Odisha and a developed India” through youth-led governance.
