Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has moved into his official government residence in Bhubaneswar Thursday, nearly nine months after swearing in as the first ever Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) CM, June 12 last year.
CM Majhi was residing in one of the government quarters at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar. The Chief Minister will now reside with his family in the official government residence at Raj Bhavan Marg.
CM Majhi entered his official residence with Vedic rituals, with the auspicious time being set at 10.47 am Thursday.
Following the rituals, Gaumatas Nanda and Nandini - cows - entered the residence first before CM Majhi’s family stepped into the new residence building.
The priests of the Puri Jagannath Temple recited the Vedas during the ‘Gruha Prabesh’ ceremony, which witnessed the participation of 11 pundits.

The work of entering the house has been started and it is scheduled to be completed by this evening. Meanwhile, a large number of police personnel have been deployed at the Chief Minister's residence.
The ‘Purnahuti’ (the complete or final sacrificial offering of the yagya) is scheduled to be completed by this evening.
Security has been beefed up around the Chief Minister’s new residential building, keeping the CM and his family’s safety in mind.
