Keonjhar, May 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi arrived in Keonjhar for a two-day official visit, marking a significant engagement with the district’s development and cultural heritage.
He arrived in a special helicopter at a temporary helipad near Kusumita Ghatital Chhak, where he was warmly welcomed by local officials and residents.
Majhi’s first stop will be at the memorial of revolutionary Dharanidhar, where he will pay floral tributes. He is scheduled to meet with descendants of Dharanidhar before attending the 161st Dharanidhar Jayanti state-level celebrations.
In the afternoon, the Chief Minister will inaugurate IPD and Trauma Care facilities at Dharanidhar Medical College, enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Additionally, he is scheduled to unveil the Reserve Police RO Office and inaugurate the new building of Town Police Station, reinforcing law enforcement capabilities.
The highlight of the evening will reportedly be the grand opening of the three-day-long Rangabati Mahotsav, a festival celebrating Western Odisha’s art, literature, traditions, dance, and music. The event aims to promote regional culture and heritage, drawing participation from artists and performers across the state.
CM Majhi’s visit underscores the state government’s commitment to infrastructure development, healthcare improvements, and cultural preservation in Keonjhar.
