Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, Apr 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd (ISPRL) and Petronet LNG on the second day of his official visit to Delhi.
These agreements aim to bolster industrial and economic growth in the state.
IOCL is likely to set up a naphtha cracker project with an investment of more than Rs 61,000 crore at Paradip. The project is a part of the company’s investment proposal of around Rs 1 lakh crore that includes expansion of its Paradip refinery.
On Monday, the Chief Minister participated in an investors' meet, engaging in discussions with the heads of 14 prominent companies. The meeting focused on attracting investments and fostering collaboration across various sectors to enhance Odisha's development. The proactive measures initiated during this visit highlight the government's commitment to positioning Odisha as a hub for growth and innovation.
Worth mentioning, Odisha attracted investment proposals from 14 companies, totaling Rs 3,000 crore, with the potential to create around 21,390 jobs.
Additionally, the government has finalised 11 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), amounting to Rs 27,595 crore, which are expected to generate approximately 27,000 employment opportunities.
The CM also visited HCL Technologies’ Noida campus and met with the Chairperson of the company, Roshni Nadar Malhotra. He also toured the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, which showcases the intersection of technology and culture.
