Bhubaneswar, Feb 17: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented his government's first full-fledged Budget of Rs 2,90,000 for 2025-26 in the State Assembly today.


Presenting the Budget, the Chief Minister said the government has projected a growth rate of 7.2 per cent. As many as 593 projects have been taken up through Utkarsh Odisha with total investment target is Rs 16.73 lakh crore. The government is hopeful of creating 12.88 lakh jobs. The government is investing heavily in education and healthcare. We will invest more in rural areas, he said.


The budget has allocated Rs 37,800 crore for agriculture sector, which is an increase of 12 percent from the previous year. The outlay for the CM Kisan Yojana is Rs 695 crore for promotion of crop diversification. The Millet Shree Ann Yojana has been extended to 177 blocks. For millets, the MSP will be Rs 4,290 plus Rs 200.

Majhi said his government is committed to implementing the 'Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar' scheme." Support will be provided for domestic solar projects of up to 3 KW capacity. Additional assistance of Rs 60,000 will be provided for 3 KW solar projects. This assistance will be provided under the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Scheme. An amount of Rs 820 crore is proposed to be allocated in the current financial year, he said.
