Odisha CM Majhi Expresses Concern Over Derailment Of Kamakhya Express

Bhubaneswar, Mar 30: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep concern over the derailment of Kamakhya Express near Nergundi station in Cuttack.
Taking to the X handle, the Chief Minister wrote: "Deeply concerned about the derailment of Kamakhya Express near Nergundi station in #Cuttack. Grateful that all passengers are safe. Authorities are on-site, ensuring assistance and restoring normalcy at the earliest. Helplines activated for support."
As many as 11 coaches of the Bangalore-Kamakhya AC Express derailed near the Cuttack-Nergundi Railway Section of the Khurda Road Division of the East Coast Railway. However, no loss of life has been reported in the incident.
The mishap reportedly took place at around 11:54 am on Sunday. Upon receiving the information, the officials of East Coast Railway (ECoR), Cuttack District collector, fire services personnel and local police officials rushed to the spot and engaged in rescue and restoration work.
Following the derailment, three trains have been diverted: 12822 Dhauli Express (BRAG), 12875 Neelachal Express (BBS), and 22606 Purulia SF Express (RTN).
