Bhubaneswar, Apr 15: In a significant move to bolster law and order, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Tuesday approved the creation of 2,500 new Home Guard posts.

Following the latest approval, the total number of Home Guard positions in the state rose to 20,175.

The initiative is part of a broader plan to strengthen the state's police force and enhance security measures.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had announced the creation of approximately 12,000 new positions across various branches of the state police department.

The addition of these new posts reflects the government's commitment to maintaining peace and order in Odisha, addressing the growing needs of the state, and supporting its citizens.
