Bhubaneswar, Oct 5: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday inaugurated the redeveloped Kalinga Studio in Bhubaneswar, describing it as a landmark moment in the growth of Odisha's film industry and a major step towards strengthening the State's creative ecosystem.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said the studio has been transformed into a world-class and self-sufficient filmmaking facility equipped with modern infrastructure and advanced technical services under one roof.

According to CM Majhi, the upgraded studio now offers a comprehensive range of facilities, including shooting floors, editing suites, sound recording units and post-production services. He said the integrated infrastructure would help filmmakers complete various stages of film production within a single campus.

The Chief Minister noted that the modernised studio would create new opportunities for Odisha's young talent, artists and filmmakers while encouraging innovation and creativity in the regional film industry.

Boost to Odia Cinema

CM Majhi said the State government envisions Kalinga Studio emerging as a major hub for film production, helping Odia cinema reach wider national and international audiences.

He expressed hope that filmmakers would increasingly draw inspiration from Odisha's culture, heritage and original stories to create content capable of earning recognition beyond the State.

The Chief Minister added that the upgraded facility would play an important role in strengthening the overall film ecosystem and support the growth of a vibrant creative industry in Odisha.
