Bhubaneswar, July 28: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted the 13th edition of the public grievance hearing at Unit-2, Bhubaneswar, reaffirming the government’s commitment to citizen-centric governance.
Joined by nine senior ministers and top bureaucrats, the Chief Minister personally listened to public concerns and directed immediate action for resolution, officials said.
The event saw a large turnout, with citizens lining up from early morning to present their grievances. In a compassionate gesture, the CM first met differently-abled complainants waiting outside and accepted their petitions directly. Inside the hearing chamber, registered complaints were addressed in the presence of departmental secretaries, who were instructed to take swift remedial measures.
Since the launch of this initiative, over 11,516 complaints have been received, with 10,502 already resolved — a remarkable 91% resolution rate. The remaining cases are under active process. The CM emphasized that the government stands with the people in their joys and sorrows, echoing the motto of a “Lokanka Sarkar” (People’s Government).

A key feature of the hearing was the Single Window System, which has disbursed Rs 55 lakh in medical assistance to 51 individuals this year alone. On the day, three patients received immediate financial aid for critical treatment, facilitated by an on-site team of senior doctors.
The grievance hearing was attended by ministers from key departments including Revenue, Health, Law, Urban Development, Panchayati Raj, Higher Education, and MSME. Senior administrative officers such as the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary to the CM also participated, ensuring cross-departmental coordination.
Citizens expressed satisfaction and emotional gratitude, noting the CM’s personal involvement and empathetic approach. The initiative continues to strengthen public trust and deliver responsive governance.
