The state government has identified high-potential sectors such as textiles and apparel, chemicals and petrochemicals, metals and downstream industries, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment as focus areas during the Gujarat visit. Officials believe these sectors can generate significant opportunities for Odisha’s industrial growth and employment creation.
On May 6, the delegation will visit Mundra Port to explore prospects in logistics and port-led industries. The visit is part of Odisha’s broader strategy to leverage its coastline and strengthen port-based development. On May 7, the Chief Minister will meet investors in Vadodara and also tour Kevadia as part of official engagements, further deepening industrial ties.
The high-level delegation includes Industry, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior government officials. Their participation underscores the state’s commitment to building strong partnerships with industry leaders.
Ahead of his departure, Chief Minister Majhi said Odisha, with its robust infrastructure and skilled workforce, has emerged as a top choice for investors. He expressed confidence that the Gujarat visit would create new opportunities for the people of Odisha, generate large-scale employment, and mark a milestone in achieving the state’s vision of a prosperous Odisha by 2036.
“This visit is a decisive step toward attracting investments and expanding job opportunities. Odisha is ready to welcome investors with a strong foundation and immense potential,” Majhi stated.
The Gujarat tour is expected to pave the way for enhanced industrial collaboration, positioning Odisha as a hub for sustainable growth and development in eastern India.
