The financial aid, released a day before the Nuakhai festival, marks the third installment of the scheme and aims to support farmers ahead of the upcoming Rabi crop season.
The disbursement was made through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring transparency and timely delivery of funds. Each eligible farmer, primarily small and marginal cultivators, received Rs 2,000 as part of the installment. The CM Kisan Yojana provides Rs 4,000 annually in two tranches—one during Akshaya Tritiya and the other during Nuakhai—to help farmers meet seasonal agricultural expenses.

Speaking at the state-level event held at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), CM Majhi emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering farmers and strengthening rural livelihoods. “Nuakhai is a celebration of harvest and hope. This financial support will help our farmers prepare for the Rabi season and ensure food security for the state,” he said.
The scheme is designed to complement central initiatives like PM-KISAN, extending benefits to those who may not qualify under national programs. It also includes provisions for landless agricultural households and educational support for farmers’ children under the Krushi Bidya Nidhi Yojana.
