Viksit Odisha / Odisha Clears 19 Industrial Projects Worth Rs3,280 Crore, Eyes 10,661 Jobs

Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: The Odisha government on Tuesday approved 19 industrial investment proposals worth Rs3,280.58 crore, with the potential to generate 10,661 jobs across the State, officials said.
The proposals were cleared at the 150th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg in Bhubaneswar.
The approved investments cover textiles and apparel,
technical textiles, food processing, steel downstream industries, global
capability centres, biofuels, chemicals, plastics, circular economy and
tourism.

✨Biofuel Gets Major Boost
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) will establish compressed biogas manufacturing facilities with a combined annual capacity of 39,600 tonnes across eight districts — Balasore, Balangir, Bargarh, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Subarnapur.
The Rs960-crore investment is expected to generate 760 jobs, making it one of the major proposals approved at the meeting.
In the plastics sector, Shri Dakshineshwari Maa Polyfabs Limited will invest Rs401.63 crore in Khordha to establish a manufacturing facility for polypropylene woven and non-woven fabrics and bags. The project is expected to create 490 jobs.
Textiles and Tourism
Dollar Industries will set up an integrated hosiery manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs125 crore. The facility will undertake hosiery production, fabric knitting, bleaching and dyeing, generating an estimated 1,185 jobs.
The tourism sector also secured five project approvals across Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Puri.
Overall, the approved projects will be implemented across
several districts, including Angul, Deogarh, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda,
Cuttack, Khordha, Koraput, Puri and Sundargarh.

Focus on Employment
Chief Secretary Anu Garg said the approvals reflected the growing diversity of Odisha’s investment landscape, with an emphasis on productive employment, value addition and balanced regional development.
She said the government was encouraging investments that would utilise local resources, strengthen supply chains and create sustainable economic opportunities.
The State would continue facilitating investment proposals through coordinated clearances to help investors move efficiently from approval to implementation, she added.
The government said the latest approvals reaffirmed its commitment to expanding Odisha’s industrial ecosystem while attracting investments across established and emerging sectors.
