Bhubaneswar, Jan 22: Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg has urged district collectors to transform their jurisdictions into economic hubs, ensuring that each district contributes as an engine of growth for the State.
At a high-level virtual meeting, Garg emphasised the importance of smooth administrative functioning and close monitoring of developmental projects. She directed collectors to identify the top 25 projects in their districts for regular review and ensure effective implementation of government schemes.
Highlighting the need for prioritising drinking water projects, she instructed departmental secretaries to accord special attention during district visits. Field-level officers were asked to extend facilitation for industrial development initiatives.

✨The Chief Secretary also stressed monthly reviews of health programmes, particularly measures to reduce infant and maternal mortality, and assessment of healthcare services in district hospitals.
Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh announced that monthly meetings with collectors will be held on the 16th of every month, or the following day if it coincides with a holiday. He also discussed the management of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds.
Additional Chief Secretary Chitra Arumugam joined deliberations on District Science Centres, planetarium projects, and welfare measures for construction workers. The meeting reviewed progress across social welfare and development schemes statewide.
