Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja conducted a comprehensive review of the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) operations during his visit to the CRUT Head Office and Gadakana Electric Bus Depot here on Monday, officials said.

The visit underscored the State Government’s commitment to smart, efficient, and eco-friendly urban mobility solutions.

Engaging with Ground-Level Teams
Ahuja interacted with bus crew members, guides, and technical staff to gain insights into their daily operations, challenges, and experiences. His engagement aimed to understand the practical aspects of delivering safe, reliable, and commuter-friendly public transport services in Bhubaneswar.

Tech-Driven Mobility Management
At the CRUT Command and Control Centre, the Chief Secretary reviewed the real-time monitoring systems, data analytics tools, and schedule optimization processes. These digital innovations are central to improving service punctuality, operational efficiency, and overall commuter satisfaction.

Push for Greener Transport Solutions
Commending CRUT’s efforts, Ahuja praised the team’s use of technology in public transport management. He urged officials to uphold high service standards and accelerate the expansion of electric bus operations to promote cleaner and more sustainable urban transport. CRUT Managing Director Dr. N. Thirumala Naik briefed him on current operations and future plans.

General Managers Sanjaya Biswal and Sahadeb Samadhia, along with other senior CRUT officials, were present during the visit.
