Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi to conduct a grievance hearing in Sambalpur, addressing public concerns directly.
Sambalpur, Apr 20: In a significant move to address public concerns, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will conduct a grievance hearing session at the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) office on Monday.
This initiative marks the first grievance hearing outside the state capital, Bhubaneswar, and aims to make governance more accessible to citizens.
The session, scheduled to begin at 8 AM, will provide an opportunity for up to 1,000 registered applicants to present their grievances directly to the Chief Minister. Additionally, around 500 offline applicants are expected to participate. The event will cater to residents from 10 western Odisha districts, including Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Balangir.
Preparations for the event are in full swing, with senior officials, including Panchayati Raj Minister Rabinarayan Naik and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, overseeing the arrangements.
Facilities such as on-spot registration, wheelchair access, and refreshment stations have been set up to ensure a smooth experience for attendees.
The grievance hearing is expected to address a wide range of issues, from administrative concerns to public welfare schemes. The Chief Minister's Office has emphasized its commitment to resolving complaints on the spot wherever possible. This initiative is part of the government's broader effort to enhance transparency and responsiveness in governance.
The event also highlights the government's focus on decentralizing administrative processes and bringing them closer to the people. By holding the grievance hearing in Sambalpur, the state aims to reduce the inconvenience of traveling to Bhubaneswar for grievance redressal.
This first-of-its-kind initiative is anticipated to set a precedent for similar events in other regions, fostering a culture of accountability and citizen-centric governance.
