Odisha CEO Meets Political Parties Ahead of Nuapada Bye-Election

Bhubaneswar, Sep 15: In a proactive move to ensure transparency and preparedness for the upcoming bye-election in the Nuapada Assembly Constituency, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha, R.S. Gopalan convened a meeting with representatives of all recognised political parties at his office in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The meeting was held in accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India, with July 1, 2025, marked as the qualifying date for the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls. The CEO emphasized the critical role of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in strengthening the revision process and urged all parties to appoint them promptly to ensure grassroots-level engagement and accuracy.
During the session, soft copies of the draft electoral roll for the Nuapada Assembly Constituency were distributed to party representatives, enabling them to review and raise any concerns or corrections ahead of the final publication.
This initiative reflects the Election Commission’s commitment to inclusive and participatory electoral processes, ensuring that all stakeholders are actively involved in shaping a fair and updated voter list.
