Bhubaneswar, Nov 15: The State-level celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda as 'Janjatiya Gourav Divas' was held at Janata Maidan In Bhubaneswar today. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to grace as chief guest at the event attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, among others. 

Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahallad Joshi and Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Shripad Yesso Naik graced as honourable guests. Odisha Backward Classes Minister Nityanand Gond, MP Aparajita Sarangi and MLA Babu Singh were present. 

Notably, the Union Government has announced to celebrate the Year 2025 as 'Janajati Gourav Barsha' to mark the 150th Anniversary of Birsa Munda. 

Accordingly, a special Palli Sabha is being organised in 7667 villages of 2408 gram panchayats under 234 blocks across 27 tribal-dominated districts today.
