Bhubaneswar, Feb 7: An important meeting of the State Cabinet will be held at the Lok Seva Bhawan in the afternoon today.

The cabinet meeting, to be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is likely to discuss and approve important proposals of various departments. According to the information, the cabinet meeting will be followed by the Council of Ministers meeting.

The Council of Ministers is likely to approve the Annual Budget for 2025-26. The Budget Session of the State Assembly will begin on February 13. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who holds the Finance portfolio, will present the budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the House on May 17.

Earlier, the State Cabinet had met on January 10. As many as 10 proposals were approved then. All eyes are on today's Cabinet meeting as it is likely to approve important proposals ahead of the Budget Session of the Assembly, scheduled to begin on February 13.
