Last year, the state presented a Budget of Rs 2.90 lakh crore, followed by a supplementary outlay of Rs 17,440 crore. For the financial year 2026–27, the Budget size is expected to touch Rs 3.20 lakh crore, according to estimates.
Focus Areas Likely
The government is expected to prioritise rural and urban development, infrastructure expansion, education, healthcare, agriculture and women’s empowerment in the upcoming fiscal plan.
Sources indicated that allocations may also reflect a continued push toward social welfare and capital expenditure, in line with previous spending trends.
Possible Disruptions Over Farmers’ Issues
Meanwhile, the fourth day of the Assembly session could witness disruptions over farmers’ issues.
The opposition is likely to raise concerns over alleged irregularities in paddy procurement and mandi management. The Congress has already moved an adjournment motion over what it termed mismanagement in mandis across the state.
