Bhubaneswar, Feb 17: The Mohan Majhi government has allocated Rs 943 crore in the Annual Budget for the development of sports sector in the State.
While Rs 10 crore has been allocated to provide assistances to talented sportspersons, Rs 80 provisioned to organise athletic events.
Other provisions made in the Annual Budget include Rs 195 crore for Assistance to Artisans and Rs 30 crore for Jagannath Darshan.
The government has allocated Rs 77 crore for promotion of culture.
Rs 300 crore allocated for State's support to Railway projects.

✨Similarly, Rs 382 crore set for civil aviation. Besides, Rs 1,855 crore has been allocted for bus services. Rs 12,66 crore set asside to renovate defunct bus stands.
Presenting the budget, the Chief Minister said, "Our government has started the journey of a prosperous Odisha 2036."
"We want to become a $500 billion economy. Our vision for a developed Odisha is based on Prime Minister Modi's Purvodaya strategy. We envision Odisha as an engine of growth for a developed India by 2047. We hope to become a 1.5 trillion economy by 2047. The Government has put in place a comprehensive strategy to translate this vision into reality," said CM in his Budget speech.
