While several regions of Odisha are witnessing rainfall activities under the influence of the prevailing low-pressure system, currently, an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for five districts including Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.
The weather department has cautioned residents of these districts to remain alert as the heavy downpour may lead to waterlogging, disruption of traffic, and a rise in river and canal water levels.
In addition to the orange warning, a yellow warning has been issued for the remaining districts.
The Met department said wind speeds reaching up to 30 km per hour are expected during thunderstorms, posing risks to weak structures and trees.
