Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: The Regional Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for several districts of Odisha as a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the North Andaman Sea on September 30.

This weather system is expected to influence the central and northern Bay of Bengal, leading to the formation of a low-pressure area by October 1.

Due to this development, Odisha may witness heavy rainfall during the Dussehra festivities. The forecast indicates intense showers from October 1 to 4, particularly affecting southern districts such as Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, and Balangir.

In the next 24 hours, districts including Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri are likely to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

The yellow warning urges residents to remain cautious, especially during outdoor activities and festive gatherings.
