Gusty surface wind speeds between 30–40 kmph are expected to affect several regions over the next 24 hours, Met Centre, Bhubaneswar prediced.
The districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh are forecasted to experience heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms. A broader set of regions—including Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Khurda, Ganjam, and Koraput among others—may witness lightning and strong winds at isolated locations.

✨In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in pockets across the state. Notably, Koraput experienced heavy rain, signaling active monsoon behaviour. The temperature readings also varied widely, with Paralakhemundi and Titilagarh recording the highest maximum temperature of 36.2°C, while Phulbani saw the lowest minimum of 21.5°C.
The weathermen emphasized preparedness as the changing conditions could impact daily life and travel. Residents, especially in rural and coastal regions, have been advised to remain indoors during storm hours and avoid vulnerable areas such as low-lying zones and open fields.
