Odisha BJP Yuva Morcha President Injured In ‘Attack By BJD Workers’

Bhadrak, May 30: Odisha unit Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president, Avilash Panda and seven other BJP workers sustained severe injuries after they were allegedly attacked by some BJD workers near Dhanakuta chhak in Karanjamala Basudevpur area in Bhadrak district on Thursday.
According to sources, the incident occured this evening when Avilash Panda along with some BJP workers were returning home after campaigning for the party candidates in Chandbali.
A group of BJD workers led by Ramesh Nayak allegedly waylaid the BJP youth wing leader and other morcha activists, and brutally attacked them with sharp weapons.
Avilash sustained severe injuries on his head. His associates were also critically injured in the alleged attack.
All the injured were rescued in critical condition and initially rushed to the Dhamara hospital. After getting primary treatment, they were shifted to Basudevpur CHC, Bhadrak.

✨Soon after the incident, hundreds of BJP workers blocked the Bhadrak-Dhamara road, demanding immediate arrest of the "BJD goons".
Later, the BJP lodged a complaint with the Bansada Police Station in this connection.
Odisha is seeing simultaneous polls to both the Lok Sabha and the assembly. The assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the BJD-ruled state are being held across four phases, from May 13 to June 1.
