Bhubaneswar, Sept 1: The Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced a 15-day service campaign titled ‘Seva Pakshya’ (a fortnight of service) to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birth anniversary. The initiative will run from September 17 to October 2, culminating on the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
State General Secretary Dr. Jatin Mohanty shared that the campaign will include a series of welfare activities across the state, reflecting PM Modi’s lifelong commitment to public service and upliftment of marginalized communities. The program will begin with a state-level exhibition on Modi’s life on September 17, followed by district-level exhibitions from September 18 to 27.

On September 20, the party will observe National Coastal Day with beach clean-up drives. A Modi Vikas Marathon is scheduled for September 21, and September 25 will mark the birth anniversary of BJP ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay with events at state, district, and booth levels. On September 25 and 26, distinguished citizens and persons with disabilities will be honored.
The campaign will conclude on October 2 with tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, alongside a special Sansad Sports Competition.
A preparatory workshop was held at the BJP state office, chaired by State President Manmohan Samal and attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy CM KV Singhdeo, and other senior leaders. Dr. Mohanty confirmed that similar workshops will be held at district and mandal levels to ensure smooth execution of the campaign.
