The 14th Session (Winter Session) of the Odisha Legislative Assembly began this morning with the Members condoling the deaths of former Members and jawans of the State. 

Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: The 14th Session (Winter Session) of the Odisha Legislative Assembly began this morning with the Members condoling the deaths of former Members and jawans of the State. 

As the House met at 11 am, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik brought an obituary motion and expressed his condolences over the deaths of former Speaker Maheswar Mohanty, former Minister Saraswati Pradhan, former Government Chief Whip Ajaya Kumar Jena, former Members Rabi Das and Yuddhistir Samantray and Jawans Saroj Kumar Das and Prakash Chandra Siala. 

The Chief Minister requested the House to pass the motion and send the condolences to the respective bereaved families. 

Opposition BJP Chief Whip Mohan Charan Majhi and Congress Legislature Party Leader Narasingha Mishra supported the Chief Minister in mourning the deaths of former Members and Jawans. 

Mishra mourned the deaths in both Koshali and Odia language.

The Speaker also expressed deep grief and said the condolences of the House would be conveyed to the respective families. 

After the Obituary Motion was passed, the Speaker adjourned the House till 10.30 am tomorrow.
