Bhubaneswar, Sep 18: The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin from today and will continue until the 25th of this month.

According to reports, the session will begin with a condolence motion in memory of late MLA Rajendra Dholakia and other departed members. As a mark of respect, the House will be adjourned after the motion.

Both the BJD and Congress have chalked out aggressive strategies to corner the government during the session. The Congress is set to move a no-confidence motion against the government, citing its performance over the past one and a half years. Meanwhile, the BJD plans to raise issues related to women's safety and the Panchayati Raj system.

The ruling party is preparing to respond to all opposition allegations through detailed discussions. A BJP legislative party meeting is scheduled for this evening to finalise counter-strategies.

The monsoon session will include six government working days and one private members' day.
