Bhubaneswar, Sep 24: The monsoon session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die on Wednesday, a day ahead of its scheduled conclusion. Speaker Surama Padhy announced the early adjournment, citing the completion of all significant legislative business.
The session, which began on September 18, was originally slated to run until September 25. However, with no major agenda items remaining, the decision was taken to conclude proceedings early.
Proposal Backed by Treasury Bench
Government Chief Whip Saroj Kumar Pradhan moved the proposal to adjourn the House, which received unanimous support from members of the treasury bench. The session witnessed relatively smooth proceedings, with key bills and discussions wrapped up within the allotted time.

Speaker Padhy stated that the decision was made in accordance with legislative norms and in consultation with the House leadership. “Since no important business is left, the House stands adjourned sine die,” she declared.
