Bhubaneswar, Sept 2: Taking a dig at Leader of Opposition (LoP) and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the ongoing Budget Session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly, CM Mohan Charan Majhi has revealed a shocking data of murder cases in Ganjam district.
The submitted data shows that 100 murder cases have been registered in Ganjam in the past 24 years -- the tenure of BJD government in the state. Notably, LoP Naveen contests from the Hinjili Assembly Constituency and has won in elections every single time.
According to the data, as many as 328 accused have been identified in connection with the registered murder cases. The accused have been arrested and being forwarded to court as well.
However, shockingly, only two of those accused have been punished for their crimes, while 22 have been freed from their alleged crimes. As many as 69 murder cases are still in court.

✨The data also shows that criminals have fired at police 37 times during their attempts to arrest them.
During those attacks, as many as 63 police personnel have suffered injuries. In the said 37 cases, police have killed 41 criminals in encounters.
