Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: The Budget Session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly will begin today.
The session which assumes significance for the presentation of the annual budget is likely to be stormy as Opposition parties- BJD and Congress- are set to take on the BJP government on various issues and the latter is prepared to face the Opposition with facts and figures of its achievements.
Yesterday, Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhi chaired an all-party meeting seeking cooperation from all parties for the smooth functioning of the House. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling, senior BJD leader Pramila Mallik, and Congress Legislative Party Leader Rama Chandra Kadam were present.
As per the calendar of the Assembly, the Budget Session will be held in two phases starting February 13 and ending April 5. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present the Annual Budget for 2025-26 on February 17.

According to the information, the session will be paperless as all 147 MLAs have been supplied tablets to carry out their legislative duties.
