Bhubaneswar, Feb 18: The Odisha Legislative
Assembly’s Budget Session witnessed repeated disruptions on Day 2, forcing the
House to be adjourned till 4 PM on Wednesday.

As soon as the House assembled for the Question Hour, the
members of both the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Congress rushed to the well
and shouted slogans against the State government.

Speaker Surama Padhy’s efforts to pacify the opposition
legislators failed as the opposition members continued to raise slogans from
the well of the House. Legislators raised slogans and pressed demands related
to farmers and other pressing issues, bringing the House to a standstill.

Unable to run the House, the Speaker first adjourned the
proceeding till 11.30 AM. When the Assembly reconvened, the uproar persisted,
compelling another adjournment until 4 PM.

debates in the days ahead.
