The Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly was stalled for a consecutive second day today over the ordinance promulgated by the Odisha government allowing tribals to transfer their land to non-tribals. 

Bhubaneswar, Nov 23: The Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly was stalled for a consecutive second day today over the ordinance promulgated by the Odisha government allowing tribals to transfer their land to non-tribals. 

As the House met for the day, Speaker Pramila Mallick called a Minister to reply to a question. However, Opposition BJP and Congress members rushed to the Well of the House and demanded withdrawl of the ordinance of tribals' land transfer and a discussion on the issue on the floor of the House. 

As the Speaker didn't listen to their demand and insisted that they return to their respective seats and participate in the question hour discussion, the Opposition members shouted slogans against the State government. Congress members were seen holding posters.

Unable to run the proceedings, the Speaker adjourned the House till 4 pm.

Notably, the Assembly was ran for seven minutes yesterday as the Opposition members staged a strong protest agains the tribals' land transfer proposal okayed by the State Cabinet recently.
