Puri, June 28: In a tragic road accident, three women died after “Ama Bus’ fatally ran over them near the Pipili overbridge on NH- 316 in Odisha’s Puri district on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Rinki, Kajal, and Rimjhim. One of the victims hailed from Barik Sahi area in Bhubaneswar Old Town, while the other two were from Kendrapara district. The trio was reportedly enroute to have darshan of Lord Jagannath in Puri when tragedy struck.
According to sources, the victims were traveling from Bhubaneswar to Puri on a scooter when an Ama Bus struck them from the side. The collision caused them to fall onto the road, and within moments, the same bus ran over all three, leaving the trio critically injured.

✨After getting information, Pipili police reached the spot, rescued the women and rushed them to Pipili Community Health Centre (CHC), where the attending doctor declared the trio “brought dead”.
Police started an investigation into the matter. “Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause behind the mishap,” a senior police officer said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each for the families of the deceased who lost their lives in the tragic accident.
