Bhubaneswar, Feb 11: Ahead of elections to the Lok sabha and Odisha Assembly 2024, Odia Actor Manoj Mishra joined the Indian Nation Congress here on Saturday.
Manoj, an alumnus of National School of Drama (NSD), joined the grand old party in the presence of party's Odisha in-charge Ajoy Kumar, OPCC President Sarat Pattnayak, Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra and other senior leaders at the party State headquarters here.
The ‘Mind Game’ actor hit the headlines in October 2023 after the Utkal Cine Chambers of Commerce (UCCC) announced to ban him for a period of two years that sparked outrage in many places in the State.
The Congress veteran Narasingha Mishra had then said that the entire state of Odisha would be divided into two parts if the ban on actor Manoj Mishra was not revoked immediately.

✨After joining the Congress party today, Manoj said, “I will continue to work in cinema from where I earn my livelihood. I joined Congress to be able to serve people and address the labour migration problem prevalent in western Odisha. I want the future of people to be bright.”
Manoj is best known for his negative roles in the Hindi, Odia and Tamil films. His popular Hindi films include Mission Kashmir (2000), and Odia films like Tumakuparuni ta bhuli, Aa janha re lekhiba naa, Ashok Samrat, Abhay, Tu mo love story etc. and Tamil films like Aanjaan.
