Odisha: 7.5 Hours' Work Mandatory For Govt Employees

Government employees will have to reach their respective offices by 10.30 am and work for seven-and-half hours every working day to get a full salary. Biometric readings will be examined to ascertain employees' presence in the offices. 

Bhubaneswar, July 31: Government employees will have to reach their respective offices by 10.30 am and work for seven-and-half hours every working day to get a full salary. Biometric readings will be examined to ascertain employees' presence in the offices. 

The norm will be strictly implemented from August 1, 2024, said the Finance department of the Government of Odisha. 

According to the guidelines, employees have been advised to reach their offices before 10.30 am and work for seven-and-a-half hours every working day. If a biometric record shows an employee has worked less than seven-and-a-half hours and more than four hours, it will be recorded as a half day. If an employee has worked less than four hours, it will be recorded as a leave.

Employees reaching the office after 10.30 am will be recorded as latecomers. Every three late arrivals will amount to a casual leave (CL).
