Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: As many as 13 cities recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius today.

Boudh recorded the highest of 42.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Sambalpur 42.2, Jharsuguda 41.7, Anugl 41.7, Bolangir 41.5, Sonepur 41.2, Titilagarh 41.0, Sundargarh 40.8, Dhenkanal 40.6, Rourkela 40.5, Hirakud 40.2, Baripada 40.2, and Bhawanipatna 40.2 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, heat wave conditions will prevail in the State for the next four days. The State will get relief from scorching heat wave conditions after March 18. Mercury will fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, said the weather office.

Predicting heat wave conditions, the Meteorological Centre has issued a red alert to the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Kalahandi and an orange alert to the districts of Angul, Sundargarh, Sonepur, and Boudh for tomorrow.
