Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: Jay Dholakia, the newly elected MLA from Nuapada, took oath as a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
Speaker Surama Padhy administered the oath to the Bharatiya Janata Party legislator in the presence of his mother, wife and senior party leaders.

The bypoll was held following the death of former BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia earlier this year. Jay Dholakia won the November 11 election with a margin of more than 83,000 votes, with the results declared on November 24.
Nuapada recorded a voter turnout of 83.45 per cent. Of 2,54,497 registered voters, 2,12,380 exercised their franchise, including 1,03,817 men, 1,08,563 women and five transgender electors across 358 polling booths.
