Nuapada Assembly Bypoll To Be Held On November 11

Bhubaneswar/ New Delhi: The Election Commission of India on Monday announced that the by-election for the Nuapada Assembly constituency in Odisha will be held on November 11.

The poll was necessitated by the demise of sitting BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia earlier this year.

Nuapada Bypoll Schedule

According to the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, the Nuapada Assembly bypoll will be held on November 11, with counting scheduled for November 14. The nomination process for the bypoll will begin on October 13 and end on October 20. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on October 22, and the last date for withdrawal is October 24. The entire election process will conclude by November 16.

The Model Code of Conduct is now in effect, the Chief Electoral Officer said.


Political Momentum Builds in Western Odisha
With the date now confirmed, political parties across the spectrum are ramping up their campaigns in Nuapada, a key constituency in western Odisha. The bypoll is expected to be a litmus test for party strength in the region, particularly as it follows a wave of development announcements by the state government.

Rs 1,100 Cr Push for Nuapada

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched multiple development projects worth Rs 1,100 crore for Nuapada, including major irrigation and infrastructure projects. He also announced Municipality status for Khariar Road and declared Komana and Sinapali as NACs. This move is seen as a strategic effort to consolidate support ahead of the vote.
