Bolangir, Aug  6: The holy mass festival of Nua Khai will be ritualistically celebrated at Maa Pataneswari and Maa Samaleswari Temples in Balangir on September 8, 2024. 

The festival will begin with offering Nabanna (cooked new rice) to the deities- Maa Pataneswari and Maa Samaleswari- between 9.35 and 10.7 am on September 8. The Jotisha Pandit Mahasabha of Bolangir district has set the auspicious time of the Nabanna offering by reading the calendar.  

As per the astrological calculation, Nabanna will be offered to the presiding deities of the Patana State royal family on the light fortnight of the month of Bhadraba.
