The gusty winds, though offering relief, also caused minor disruptions such as fallen tree branches and localized power outages in some parts of the places.
While the Meteorological Department has predicted more rains, the weather agency has also issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, with speeds estimated between 40 to 50 km/h. This alert is in effect until April 30, with predictions of intense rainfall in certain areas.
Regions like Jharsuguda and Angul, previously identified as heatwave hotspots, are now witnessing a significant shift in weather conditions. The rainfall is expected to continue, providing relief to residents who had been struggling with extreme temperatures.
