Bhubaneswar, Apr 10: A shift in weather is set to bring relief from the scorching heat as Nor’westers sweep through Odisha. The regional meteorological center has predicted rainfall today and tomorrow due to the impact of a well-marked low-pressure system. Over the next 24 hours, temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

The Nor’westers effect has already led to thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across various regions. A yellow warning has been issued for nine districts today, cautioning residents about adverse weather conditions. Rainfall is expected to persist across Odisha until April 13.

Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. In the next 24 hours, districts including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, Khordha, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri may witness intense showers with lightning.

Locals are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions as Kalbaisakhi continues to impact the state.
